  • Complex, & Adoptive Families

    Adoptive families, foster families, and complex family systems:


    1. Adapt and implement various family systems psychotherapy models to meet the unique needs of families.


    2. Implement interventions based on Theraplay principles, and psychotherapy that promotes healthy child/caregiver attachment through activity-based interactions.


    3. Collaborate/coordinate care with Child Welfare organizations and other family-serving social service agencies.

  • Early Childhood Counseling

    1. Formerly served as an Early Childhood mental Health Consultant in Ohio.


    2. Provided various mental health services in Head Start programs and other early childhood education settings.


    3. Completed specialized education and training in the following areas: child development, mental health disorders originating in early childhood, and use of play therapy and other expressive therapies with young children.

  • Intellectual & Learning Disorders

    Intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, and other neurodevelopment disorders


    1. Collaborate/coordinate care with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and other organizations serving individuals with developmental disabilities.


    2. Adapt and implement various psychotherapy models to cater to diverse learning needs and preferences.

  • Depression, Anxiety, & Bi-Polar

    1. Over a decade of treating children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups of individuals with the above disorders in home, community, school, office, and hospital settings

  • Crisis Prevention & Intervention

    1. Currently serve as Lead Counselor on the Acute Unit in a Behavioral Health Hospital setting that assists children and youth in crisis, including ideas and behaviors related to suicide, self-injury, homicide, aggression, psychosis, and more.


    2. Implement Crisis Prevention Institute de-escalation and behavior management

    techniques to promote safety in the workplace.


    3. Partner with individuals, families, and other health professionals to create customized Safety Crisis Plans for use in home, school, and other settings.

  • Trauma & Stess-Related Disorders

    1. Maintain certification and practice Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a non-traditional, evidence-based psychotherapy for treating individuals with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and others impacted by trauma.


    2. Implement interventions based on Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy principles, short-term, evidence-based psychotherapy for treating children and adolescents with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and recovering from traumatic life experiences.


    3. Use the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics to assess, identify needs and strengths, and prioritize intentions in the areas of education, enrichment, and therapy for at-risk youth.

  • Disruptive, Impulse-Control, & Conduct Disorders

    1. Implement various psychotherapy models related to behavior modification.


    2. Partner with families, schools, and other health professionals to complete mental health assessments related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children and adolescents. (ex: The Connors Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales)

    • Provide supervision to Acute Social Worker/Counselors.
